At Vaughan, we like to make your learning fun! There are a number of online resources which students have access to which enables them to extend their learning outside the classroom.
Home Learning
If you have any questions regarding logging into the websites provided for home learning please email homelearning@vaughan.harrow.sch.uk with your child's name and class in the subject box and your query. A member of staff will get back to you as soon as they can. In the meantime please continue to use the many free websites that are posted under our Curriculum tab under Learning Resources.
Physical Education
Small bursts of physical activity throughout the school day are proven to help kids concentrate and stay on task. The UK Government guidelines of 30 minutes of physical activity in primary school are easy to achieve with these tools.

Good for phase 2 blending and segmenting. You can also search different series of alphablocks on youtube to find the relevant digraphs that your child has been learning in phase 3.

Using this link parents can download free workbooks to use at home to support Key Stage One Maths and English alongside Key Stage Two Maths, English and Science workbooks. Please note these workbooks are designed to be used at the end of a Key Stage so are more applicable to Years Two and Six.
Home Hunts are educational treasure trails.
Family members can quickly and easily set up a Home Hunt for their child(ren) around their own home after printing it off the website. The creative clues are based on the national syllabus for each primary school year group and require children to answer questions and decode their answers, each spelling a common household item where the next clue is hidden (example clues are given online).
All Home Hunts will be available for free for all families in the UK until at least September 2020 in response to school closures. The first set of Home Hunts are Maths and English-based, now available online at www.homehunts.uk but more Hunts in other subjects will appear very soon.
You will need to set up your own accounts and follow the instructions should you wish to access the resource.

MyMaths provides complete curriculum coverage and offers a wealth of resources to develop students confidence and fluency in maths.
Provides easy to use videos to help your child apply their mathematical understanding at home.
Times Tables Rock Stars is a carefully sequenced programme of daily times tables practice.
This is a great tool where you can practice your times tables under timed conditions using the times tables test simulator.
This is a site owned by Carol Vorderman. She is currently allowing free access for children aged 4-11 until schools open again. Parents would need to access this link individually and register their own child or children. They would then be sent login details in due course.

Collins Big Cat is reading programme that provides support for primary reading. It supports children to become fluent readers through the use of high quality fiction and non-fiction colour banded books by award winning authors and illustrators. Collins have provided free access to many books for parents to access at home to read with your child/ren. Please follow the instructions through the link below.
Amazon have cancelled the subscription of books and audio stories for children of all ages as long as schools are closed. Children will be able to stream a large collection of stories (including titles form across 6 different languages - English, Japanese, French, German, Spanish and Italian) onto desktops, laptops, phones or tablets.
Enjoy thousands of books at your finger tips. You can choose a book based on a category or topic you enjoy. You can listen to the book being read aloud or read it for yourself. Whatever you decide to do, make sure you are keeping your imagination active. Escape in a new book everyday and let it lead you somewhere new.

The St Mary’s University Primary Science Team has been working with the Primary Science Teaching Trust (PSTT) and Spectrum Drama on a project called Science at Work. This project has created opportunities to meet past and present scientists, and to learn more about people whose work involves using science.
Science at Work consists of weekly activity sheets about scientists and people who work in a science-related job. Children are encouraged to send in their questions to the scientist who will answer as many questions as they can in a video released the following week on the PSTT’s Facebook page (and released on their YouTube channel).
There are now 4 previous videos; Meet Florence Nightingale, Meet a medical doctor and an immunologist, Meet Gene Cernan and Meet Space Scientists. On Tuesday, the video featuring Isambard Kingdom Brunel will be released.
