Is my child too ill for School?

Sometimes parents and carers are unsure whether to send their child to school if they have an illness.

SHOULD I KEEP MY CHILD OFF SCHOOL?

This image gives some very useful information. If in doubt, please call the school welfare department on 020 8427 7222, option 2, or the school office (option 6).

If you are reporting your child absent, please notify the school BEFORE 9AM on every day of absence.  Absence can be reported by calling 020 8427 7222 (option 1) to leave a message on our absence line, or, an email to attendance@vaughan.harrow.sch.uk. Please include your child's class name and their symptoms in the absence message.  Thank you.

WHEN CAN MY CHILD RETURN TO SCHOOL?

We have a school policy whereby children who have a high temperature should stay at home for 24 hours without medication before returning to school.  Also, if child has diarrhoea or vomiting, they should stay at home for 48 hours from the last bout of vomiting or diarrhoea.
